‘Gifted’ and ‘Girlfriend’ creators to return to Cartoon Network in 2019, says Fox exec
The creators behind “Gifted” and “Girlfriend” are returning to Cartoon Networks next year with a new animated series, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
“We have a new show in the works, and we are excited to be joining the Cartoon Network family,” the show’s creator and executive producer Josh Schwartz said in a statement.
“We are thrilled to be on Cartoon Network’s family of networks.”
Schwartz and Schwartz are both exec producers on the new animated show, “Gifts,” which will air on Cartoon Networks this fall.
“Gifts” marks Schwartz’s first project outside of Cartoon Network, and the first to be produced in Los Angeles.
The show follows a young couple who discover a gift that allows them to channel their innate gifts to create a more creative future.
Schwartz and his wife, actress Jessica Chastain, have been writing the show for the last two years, while Schwartz and co-creator and executive producers David Silverman (who also serves as an executive producer) and David Wain (who is also an executive producing partner) were originally planning to produce.
